A. For Compute Providers:
- Contact Information: Email address (tied to your payout method).
- Technical Information: IP address, performance characteristics of your computing hardware over time.
- Payout Information: Payout method details, abstracted by Stripe (we do not directly store your full bank account or credit card numbers).
B. For Customers:
- Contact Information: Email address (when logged in).
- Technical Information: IP address.
- Payment Information: Payment method details, abstracted by Stripe (we do not directly store your full bank account or credit card numbers).
- Usage Information: Details of your service consumption for accounting and billing.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain Our Service: To enable the functionality of borgcloud.org, process transactions, and manage accounts.

- Stripe: For payment processing and payout abstraction. Your payment details are processed directly by Stripe, and we only receive a tokenized representation.
- Other services for fraud prevention, infrastructure, and technical support.
These third parties are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency).
- No Sharing with Other Users: We do not share Compute Providers' personal data (like IP addresses or payout details) with Customers, nor do we share Customers' personal data (like emails or payment details) with Compute Providers. While we implement safeguards to protect Customer data from Compute Providers and monitor Compute Providers for inappropriate behavior, we do not bear responsibility for the actions of Compute Providers in violation of their agreements with us.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a period of two (2) years after your account closure. This retention period allows us to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements.
